From A to Z. Education lives.


The Swiss government's Agenda 2030 is the applicable framework for national and international efforts to find joint solutions to the world's major challenges. It is based on the 17 goals for sustainable development that have already been defined for all 169 UN member states by 2015. These Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are to be achieved globally and by all UN member states by 2030.


Goal 4 of the Agenda 2030 aims to ensure inclusive, equal and high-quality education and to promote opportunities for lifelong learning for all. After all, high-quality basic and vocational education and training in the sense of lifelong learning is central to improving the living conditions of individuals, communities and society as a whole.  


Athena Wisdom Institute AG wants to bring concrete answers to this goal 4. To this end, it has organized the workshop described below.


Workshop – Future forge on the 14th October 2020

On October 14, we met with lateral thinkers and children on the topic of education and dreamed up new educational paths for children. We also met with major organizations in the field of new school education and politics, including Intrinsic (a pioneer in new teacher training in Switzerland), Schulwandel (a network working for a new elementary school education paradigm), the Integral Politics Party (a party with the vision of a society in which the welfare of all people, all animals, all plants and the whole earth is realized) and the SBB with the specialist responsible for Diversity & Inclusion. From this 4-hour workshop, two initiatives emerged with great enthusiasm, which we as Athena Wisdom Institute AG want to continue to accompany and support.


The two initiatives


For one project, an 11-year-old girl has taken the lead. Chapeau! With the help of her mother she wants to run it as a pilot project in her class and school. The project is Corona friendly, innovative and is very close to her and as Athena. The pilot project consists of two one-week camps with the class, where the children learn to survive in the open nature. The following topics enjoy a special place in the camp and are experienced both practically and theoretically, and are accompanied by competent persons: How can I pitch a tent and make a campfire? How do I cook on the fire? How do I feed myself in nature and in the forest? How can I grow my own food? How can I communicate with animals? Where do we come from as humans (Stone Age)? Where are we and what can we learn about stars (universe)?

Learning on the farm

The second project aims to make school on Swiss farms possible, for which an SBB employee has taken the lead in the area of social innovation and conscious management. The project is aimed at children and their families, with a special focus on disadvantaged children and families, with the aim of facilitating their integration and providing them with access to topics where they themselves cannot find a connection. The initiative aims to strengthen the integrity and initiative of children through closer contact with animals and nature. The vision includes a common platform for all farms in Switzerland. On this platform, everyone can find a farm near him or her that offers education. On these farms you can learn everything about agriculture, animal husbandry and get access to natural learning outside. Different learning activities are offered: taking over a sponsorship for an animal and taking care of it regularly, tending a garden, getting to know wild herbs and using them as ointment, watching the farmer in his everyday life and supporting him, getting to know agriculture from sowing to processing food - for example as a popcorn project - from sowing the seeds to roasting on the fire. The farms should also bring new forms of agriculture and animal husbandry to the fore, with a special focus on forms such as permaculture, organic farming and animal husbandry without slaughter. This project thus supports different parties: on the one hand children who can learn in a natural way and in nature, on the other hand the farmers by offering them an additional mainstay and thirdly integration, in which special programs for disadvantaged children are offered.
