Ancient wisdom from any part of the world is firmly rooted in the natural attributes of compassion, empathy, tolerance, sharing and nurturing. These are the same qualities that adorn the feminine personality.
What are we as human beings longing for? Which needs have to be satisfied for us to live the highest expression of ourselves? And why millions cannot experience the latter?
The good-old Indian mentality revolves around the fact that women are backward in their brains. Women cannot think like men when it comes to taking up leadership roles in any strata of society. It is the innate desire of men to overrule women because Indian women cannot achieve great success all by themselves and are incomplete without their husbands.
One of the key features involved in the practice of Ancient Wisdom is integrity. Derived from the Latin word, Integritas, it means wholeness, entirety or completeness. Anything which is not whole or is incomplete will not sustain.
In a quest for sustainability and adding real value to the world, all responsible company is seeking objectives beyond monetary gains. Ancient Wisdom throughout the world is replete with advice, philosophies and methodologies to transcend beyond financial gains, into real and lasting objectives
Business ethics taught in the Business schools or as practised half-heartedly by many organisations, to suffice the legal requirement or due diligence process, misses out on its purpose. The organisations need to go beyond their individual existence to find themselves as a part of a much larger system. Everything that they do must benefit the whole system.
Business as a commercial activity is supposed to deliver value to all its stakeholders. The distribution of the gains are skewed, but it was never intended to exploit or inconvenience anyone or anything. However, over the centuries, there have been ample instances in business to prove that greed overtook moral or ethical values to unleash a long history of exploitation.
How can Science & Business benefit from Ancient Wisdom, our heritage as mankind?
A strong, stable, well cultured and developed inner being is primal for efficient performance in any sphere. But this is often neglected. In a rush to prove one’s worth or under the stress of timelines, the whole focus is on the execution. An empty barrel never shoots any bullet. If the being has not been nurtured and has not blossomed holistically, no amount of sweat can achieve anything, says Sarina.
